Musical Evening by SPIC MCAY at BSF Koraput on Sunday

It was a Rajasthani Musical Evening by Gazi Khan and team from Rajasthan in the BSF camp at Koraput on Sunday . The programme had the support of SPIC MACAY .

BSF men dancing to Rajasthani Music by Gazi Khan and team on Sunday evening at BSF Camp ,Koraput . Everyone enjoyed the evening .

Gazi Khan and the Rajasthani Musical team were honoured by Akhileswar Singh , DIG , BSF after the completion of the musical evening by the team . Mr.Singh said that such musical items promote national integration and can help the force to be connected to their varied cultural heritage .

Workshop on Contribution of Panchasakha on Sunday at Koraput

2012-09-23 Workshop at Jagannath Temple on 23rd Oct-2012

A workshop on the contribution of Balaram Das , Atibadi Jagannath Das , Jasobanta Das , Achyutananda Das and Anant Das popularly known as Panchasakha of Odisha for the spread of Jagannath cult among greater mass was held at Sri Jagannath temple ,Koraput on the occasion of celebrating Radhastami on Sunday .

Statues of Panchasakha along with that of Sri Chaitanya Dev and Pandit Sadasiv Rathashrma were installed in the Bhagavat Ghar of the temple . Among others Sachin Jadhav , district collector , Krushna Chandra Panigrahy , Secretary of the temple and Charana Pandit Ramakrushna Pati of Puri attended the programme .

Koraput is Preparing for Ganesh Puja on 18th Sept-2012

Here is City Cafe Junction of Koraput (Even though the hotel has been closed for many years the name is still there) is the place that everyone prefers to be on a day like today when everyone was preparing for Ganesh Puja that would be celebrated tomorrow . Here everyone was found busy in taking something or the other for the Puja .

There were tribal woman selling flowers while sitting in the middle of fruits and flowers that others sell . It is festive season and no one is bothered where one sits . Everyone has the business for their products . Great.

Koraput market as other markets is flooded with idols of Lord Ganesha . We recall those days when we used to ask our dear artists to make a small one for us when they were making large sized idols . But now there are good number of idols made of mud and plaster of paris . While many have the belief that the idol should be of mud and not of plaster of paris as per the Shastra , the demand was for the more beautiful ones and they were of Plaster of Paris imported from the neighbouring state of AP . Let Lord Ganesha decide ... Jai Ganesha

Today is Mala Dasami and Lord Jagannath , Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at Koraput gave darshan in this nice way . The golden plates have been put on Rekha Panchami and would stay there till Deba Snana Purnima . Jai Jagannath
