Chariot under preparation at Koraput on 12th June-2012

The Divine Chariot for Car Festival-2012 at Koraput is getting ready . The making has reached to the top as on today . Now the road gets narrow for the presence of the chariot  at this point in the town on National highway . Hence to ease the traffic , proper arrangements by the police  were needed .

Preparatory Meeting for Car Festival-2012 at Koraput on 11th june-2012

The preparatory meeting for the smooth conduct of Car Festival from 21st of this month was held at Sri Jagannath Temple , Koraput today evening . District collector , Supt.of Police and Secretary of the temple were among people from different walks of life . participants in the meeting offered their valuable suggestions . 

Making of Chariot for Car Festival began at Koraput on 8th June-2012

Today was one of the auspicious day for Koraput . The making of Chariot for Sri Gundicha Yatra , the Divine's journey to the hearts of millions had begun in the town . Each day will now be a countdown for the day when lakhs of people from the mountains and valleys of the region gather on the Bada Danda, on which the chariot will be drawn and to see their Lords -Lord Jagannath , Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on the chariot .

Deba Snana Jatra at Koraput on 4th June-2012

Deba Snana Jatra was celebrated at Sabara Srikhetra Koraput today with devotees bathing the three Lords- Jagannath , Balabhadra and Debi Subhadra on the auspicious occasion . From late night the three lords would take rest in the main temple for a fortnight during wehich the main door will be closed for Darshan by devotees .Tribals would offer their prayer and extend their services during this period . it is believed that Lord gets sick after the bath .
